Arrives my love
The trees blown bare by winds
Conduct the orchestration
A ghastly pallid hand
Marks the coronation
Sweeps across the land
Paints charcoal lines on white
Exhausted colors flee
Into the waxing night
My love's silver hair
Her pale bare features glowing
From my window pane
Anticipation growing
But a reflection asks
Who loves this icy maiden?
Arriving every year
Whom bitter frost has laden
Answered without pause
With manifested breath
I do, I greet her yearly
Though heralded by death
And so arrives my love
With quiet celebration
Contemplative stillness
Sees our consummation
Conduct the orchestration
A ghastly pallid hand
Marks the coronation
Sweeps across the land
Paints charcoal lines on white
Exhausted colors flee
Into the waxing night
My love's silver hair
Her pale bare features glowing
From my window pane
Anticipation growing
But a reflection asks
Who loves this icy maiden?
Arriving every year
Whom bitter frost has laden
Answered without pause
With manifested breath
I do, I greet her yearly
Though heralded by death
And so arrives my love
With quiet celebration
Contemplative stillness
Sees our consummation

Someday
Once I had a someday, tethered on a line
Held aloft by passion winds, firmly in my grip
But thinking I was in control, began to reel it in
The more I brought it close to me, the more I felt it slip
And just as windmills far away, can be just what you want
Approach them all with caution, lest reverie take flight
Let your dreams come to you, if it's meant to be. 'Cause
All the armor in the world, does not make a knight
Now my someday's far away, more distant with the years
Another castle in a sky-scape crowded with my dreams
Another fish that got away, enlarged with passing time
Lost in a land I don't control, where nothing's as it seems

Through the trees comes the wind
And bends and flutters leaf and bough
But leaves the tree still where it stands
Changes nothing, place or vow
In a world less than ideal
Just one injustice, I would change
But ease my grip, a moment's rest
And back again, the faults arrange
To what effect, the wind does blow
dead leaves dance but nowhere goes
The world still as it ever was
If it had a name, no one knows

The sun came out a bit today
and stayed a little while
Testing waters with it's toes
If warmth is back in style
It joined me in my noon-day tea
Dressed in saffron glow
I offered it another cup
To prompt it not to go
But soon it went, promising
to be not long in going
On chilly wind it whisked away
While seeds of spring it sowing
and stayed a little while
Testing waters with it's toes
If warmth is back in style
It joined me in my noon-day tea
Dressed in saffron glow
I offered it another cup
To prompt it not to go
But soon it went, promising
to be not long in going
On chilly wind it whisked away
While seeds of spring it sowing

Recomposure
Rainy notes from my mind drop
Speckled now in three-four time
Not of grandeur, but simple, soft
Staircased in descending rhyme
Words of warmth and comfort, ease
The turmoil of their birth, Belie
Seeming falling without cease
From a gray and cloudy sky
Speckled now in three-four time
Not of grandeur, but simple, soft
Staircased in descending rhyme
Words of warmth and comfort, ease
The turmoil of their birth, Belie
Seeming falling without cease
From a gray and cloudy sky
